Dr. Yongxiu Bai, graduated from Shaanxi Normal University in 1982 , was then assigned to teach in Hanzhong Teachers College. Yongxiu served as assistant dean, and taught the socialist economic theory. In 1989, Yongxiu obtained his MA at Shaanxi Normal University majoring in political economics, and then stayed in the School to teach. As an exception in 1992, he was promoted to associate professor, was then a professor in 1995. As an exception again, he became a deputy director of the Department of political Education in Shaanxi Normal University, and then Associate Dean and Head of the Department, and the director of the Center for Economic Research at the Northwest University. From 1997, he taught at the Northwestern University’s School of Economics and Management. Since 2000, he served as the Dean of Economics and Management.
Mr. Yujun Bao, Deputy Secretary-General of the CPPCC National Committee, Vice Chairman of China Federation of Industry. Yujun joined the CPC in 1965. He graduated from Renmin University of China in 1966 majoring Journalism, and then served as People's Daily’s editor and the government officer, the Science and Education Director, and Editor of the Secretary-General, the Deputy Chief Editor and Secretary-General, Secretary-General for the All-China Association Newspaper Management; China's Health Journalists Association’s Vice-Chairman, and Vice President of China Advertising Association. He was also the author of his book, Pen-work at Midnights.
Dr. Manfred Bienefeld, Carleton University, Canada Dr. Manfred A. Bienefeld, School of Public Policy and Administration, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, Ph.D. in Economics (London), recent focuses on development policy; the debt crisis; financial deregulation, protectionism; industrial policy; planning, privatization and the "newly industrializing countries", Research Interests include wages/employment, commodity/capital Markets, human capital, technology/ industrialization, development and the environment, and development in a Historical Perspective. His area of interest includes Africa, Pacific, and East Asia.
Dr. Anne Miroux, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Dr. Anne Miroux, Head, Investment Issues Analysis, Division on Investment, Technology and Enterprise Development (DITE), in United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Anne has worked in the United Nations since 1980, beginning first as an Economist in the UN Centre on Transnational Corporations in New York, from where she was involved in the negotiations on the UN Code of Conduct on Transnational Corporations.
Dr. Someshwar Rao is the Director of Productivity and Competitiveness Analysis Directorate at Industry Canada. Dr. Rao is responsible for activities of research and analysis of issues related to productivity, competitiveness, foreign direct investment, internal and international trade, multinationals, ICTs and the impact of climate change policies on Canadian industries. He was also responsible for the Industry Canada Publications Program. Prior to joining Industry Canada, he was with the Economic Council of Canada, where he played a key role in the preparation of major reports on Canada’s competitiveness and the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement; Dr. Rao also served as the Acting Director of the CANDIDE model group responsible for the development of a disaggregated model of Canadian industry and policy modeling. He published extensively on micro and macro-economic issues.
Dr. Zongzhe Ren was the Northwestern University’s Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice-Chancellor, Professor, and Doctoral Tutor. In 1989, he graduated from the Department of Philosophy at Northwestern University. After graduation, he taught there and then he was appointed to be the Deputy Director of Personnel in 1998, and Vice President of the Institute of Public Administration, and Public Management School Dean by Northwestern University in 2002. In the same time, he earned the School of Economics and Management’s Ph.D. degree in Political Economy. In 2004 he was appointed the be the Northwestern University Party Committee Member and Assistant to the President. In 2005 he was appointed to be the Northwestern University Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chancellor. In 2006 he was elected as the Standing Committee Member of CPC at Northwestern University.
Dr. Karl Sauvant, Columbia University, USA Dr. Karl P. Sauvant received a Ph.D. degree in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, U.S. He is a national of Germany. Executive Director of the Columbia Program on International Investment, Research Scholar and Lecturer in Law at Columbia Law School, Special Advisor to the UN Millennium Project, Co-Director Millennium Cities Initiative, Chatham House Foundation Fellow, and Member, International Advisory Council, International Center for Corporate Accountability, Baruch College, CUNY. He is also Special Advisor to TNCONLINE (China) Programme Initiative and Guest Professor at Nankai University, China.
