CONFERENCE PROGRAMMING
PROPOSAL
According to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the majority of the Fortune 500 companies and other Transnational Corporations (TNCs) have already established branches or offices in China by end of 2008. The Fortune 500 companies and other TNCs produce one-third of the world’s outputs in total. Since the late 1970s’, China is actively promoting “open door” and “going out” policy towards foreign investments. In order to keep promotion of foreign investments and trade with China, also to stimulate Chinese enterprises going towards the world market, TNC Forum Secretariat and School of Economics and Management (SEM) at Northwest University (NWU) in Xi’an, China are proposing to organize an international conference on the subject of “TNCs and Developing Countries” in 2010 in China. The following are some preliminary considerations.

PUBLICATION OF CONFERENCE
All accepted papers for this conference will be published in the Journal of Transnational Corporations Review (TNCR, both in English and Chinese) and requested for the indexes of SSCI and/or ISSHP. 30 papers will be selected by the conference academic committee and recommended to be published in one or two regular issue with a special issue of TNCR.
REGISTRATION & EXPENSES
• Registration Fee: RMB 1,000.00 to register for each conference participant. Participant’s expenses are not included. Local transportation and accommodation can be arranged by the conference organizer for an extra fee of RMB 1,500.00. For all registration payment, please contact SEM at NWU in Xi’an, China for appropriate arrangement.
• Paper publishing fees: US$300 will be charged for a paper to be published in regular or special issue of TNCR with indexes, maximum up to ten pages. US$30 will be charged for every one more page. For those are not successfully selected to index but qualified for the proceedings, a refund will be received up to 30% of the payment. To pay all publishing fees, potential authors or affiliation should contact TNC Forum Secretariat in Ottawa, Canada.

• Arranging loudspeakers; reporting conference; recording speeches; arranging, printing and distributing relevant materials of conference; making and printing address list of participants; arranging group photos and awarding authors if applicable, etc.
• In charging of the expense of publicizing the conference, labour expense, expense of reviewing papers, payment for the experts’ lectures; and other transportation expense of the experts and scholars, etc.
• Arranging VIPs invited by overseas partners; arranging those who will give special lectures; arranging conference staff to move into the accommodation place one day before representatives check in.
• Arranging vehicle; making sure to arrange special vehicle for VIPs invited by overseas partners and experts who will give special lectures.
• Choosing venue and restaurant, setting remarkable sign, adjusting venue, restaurant and dates when necessary.
